(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police are currently investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of January 18th. At approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a call about shots being fired at the 1400 block of Ridgemont Court. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as 42-year-old Michael Ryan Burke of Columbia, was provided with medical treatment by officers until emergency medical services arrived. He was then transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin have been notified.
