(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Three suspects wanted for a homicide and multiple armed robberies in Columbia have been apprehended by authorities in Glasgow, Missouri. The Columbia Police Department expressed their gratitude to the Glasgow Police Department, Howard County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and other assisting agencies for their assistance in the successful capture of these individuals.
The first incident occurred on June 14 at approximately 2:30 a.m. when three Black male suspects entered a business in the 600 block of Scott Boulevard. One suspect acted as a lookout while the other two ransacked the business. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and attempted to force the clerk to open a safe, but was unsuccessful. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise.
The following day, on June 15 at around 8 p.m., Columbia Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of East Broadway and Old 63. Upon arrival, they found 18-year-old Zarian Simpson with a gunshot wound. Simpson was treated at the scene by emergency medical services before being transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His next of kin have been notified.

Further investigation revealed that Simpson had been a victim of an armed robbery that took place on Broadway and Eighth Street just prior to the shooting on East Broadway and Old 63. Simpson had followed the suspects as they fled and was shot by one of them while both were driving on the roadway.
A juvenile suspect has been arrested on charges including second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers anonymously.
The case numbers for these incidents are 2025-005420 and 2025-005471.
This is not the first time these suspects have been involved in criminal activity. On June 14, they were also responsible for an armed robbery on Scott Boulevard.
