(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The pavement maintenance work on various streets in Columbia that were scheduled to receive Onyx surface treatment from Aug. 27 to Sept. 12 has been postponed due to contractor scheduling conflicts. The work will now begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
According to a press release from the City of Columbia Public Works department, Lionmark Contracting will be applying Onyx surface treatment to streets that previously received a chip seal in 2025. This treatment is expected to extend the life of these streets and improve driving conditions.

In addition, Capital Paving will be performing resurfacing work on two streets using a mill and overlay starting next week. The work will take place between Sept. 2-11 on Primrose Drive from North Stadium Boulevard to Sunflower Street and North Creasy Springs Road from Business Loop 70 West to the concrete north of Proctor Drive.
To ensure smooth progress and safety during these maintenance projects, orange 'No Parking' signs will be placed at least 24 hours in advance along streets scheduled for maintenance. Drivers are advised not to park on these streets during designated dates and times as vehicles parked in work zones during active hours may be subject to towing. The crews will be working from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day until the projects are completed.
The City of Columbia Public Works department apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the rescheduling of the pavement maintenance work and thanks residents for their cooperation and understanding during this time.
