(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - E.M. Harris Construction, the contractors for the City of Columbia Stormwater Utility, have been diligently working on stormwater management outside 308 Park Ave. as part of the Park Avenue housing project since October 7th.
Originally, the closure of Park Avenue between North Providence Road and North Fifth Street was announced to take place from October 7th to 9th. However, due to the ongoing work, the closure has been extended until Friday, October 31st.
The construction crew is currently focused on installing the stormwater system and replacing concrete in the designated work zone. To ensure safety for both workers and pedestrians, road closure and detour signs will remain in place throughout the area.

As there are sidewalks on both sides of Park Avenue, one sidewalk will always be kept open for pedestrian access. The contractor will alternate between sidewalks as needed depending on where work is being carried out.
In addition to this current closure, there will be further closures on Park Avenue between North Fifth and North Seventh streets, as well as between North Seventh and North Eighth streets. The dates for these closures will be announced once they are scheduled. For more information on this project, visit CoMo.gov/CMS/pressreleases/view.php?id=9418.
