(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Housing Authority's East Park Avenue Apartments project is causing some temporary changes to the intersection of Park Avenue and North Seventh Street. According to a press release, the intersection will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
This closure is in addition to the previous closure of Park Avenue between North Seventh and Eighth streets for water line connections, which was scheduled from Oct. 30 to Nov. 20. The contractor for this project, Emery Sapp & Sons, has now announced the need for further water line connections, requiring the nearby intersection to also be closed.

While the north sidewalk on Park Avenue between North Seventh and Eighth streets will remain closed, the south sidewalk will remain open with signs directing pedestrians to safe crossing points.
The closure will also affect public transportation routes, as Go COMO Orange and Gold routes will now detour around the area using Eighth, Ash and Fifth streets. However, no bus stops will be affected.
The intersection of Park Avenue and North Seventh Street is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12. After that point, Park Avenue will continue to be closed between North Seventh and Eighth streets until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, weather permitting. Residents are advised to plan their travel accordingly during this time period.
