(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia City Council members have announced the addition of a new date to their series of informal office hours, which were initially scheduled after the release of a press release. The purpose of these office hours is to discuss the potential impact of federal and state executive orders on the community and City programs and staff.
Residents from any ward are invited to attend any of the drop-in style meetings, where they can learn more about potential impacts to federal funding and engage in discussions with Council members and staff. The office hours will be held on various dates throughout June, including Saturday, June 7 with Council Member Nick Foster and City staff at Conference Room 1A at City Hall, Monday, June 9 with Mayor Barbara Buffaloe and City staff at the Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services department, Wednesday, June 11 with Council Member Jacque Sample and City staff at the Columbia Fire Department's Fire Training Academy, Thursday, June 12 with Council Member Don Waterman and City staff in Room C of the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC), and Sunday, June 15 with Council Member Valerie Carroll and City staff at the Friends Room of the Daniel Boone Regional Library.

These office hours were organized in response to public input at a recent City Council meeting on May 5th. During this meeting, residents expressed concerns about proposed changes to the City's Strategic Plan as a result of executive orders.
All members of the public are welcome to attend these open meetings. For those who require accommodations related to disability, they are encouraged to call or email in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made. The contact information for accommodations is provided in the press release.
The Columbia City Council hopes that these office hours will provide an opportunity for community members to voice their concerns and engage in productive discussions about potential impacts from federal and state executive orders. They encourage all residents to attend any of the scheduled meetings that best fit their schedule.
