(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia residents can expect some changes to the sidewalk in front of Tiger Barber Shop starting Monday, March 24. Cook Concrete Construction, the contractor for Holt Investment Properties LLC and the City of Columbia Public Works department, will be reconstructing the sidewalk beginning at 7 a.m.
The construction will result in a portion of the sidewalk on the east side of South Ninth Street between Cherry Street and Locust Street being closed. To ensure pedestrian safety, signs will be placed to direct them to alternative crossing locations.

In addition, multiple metered parking spaces near 118 S. Ninth St. will also be closed during this time. The affected meters will have 'No parking' hoods placed on them at least 24 hours in advance.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed and the sidewalk reopened by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26. This project aims to improve the safety and accessibility of the area for both pedestrians and drivers.
