(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Sewer Utility to Hold Public Meeting for Proposed Sewer Improvement Project
The City of Columbia Sewer Utility has announced a public information meeting to discuss a proposed sewer improvement project in the area near Clear Creek and East Gans Road. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Wastewater Treatment Plant's Conference Room located at 4900 W. Gillespie Bridge Road.
According to the Sewer Utility, the project aims to update the pump station near Clear Creek and East Gans Road. Additionally, crews will replace a portion of the force main pipe and some air valves in the sewer main that runs from the Veterans United campus to the pump station. These improvements are expected to enhance operations and reduce the likelihood of pipe failures.

Stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meeting and provide their input on preliminary concepts, ask questions, and make comments. A public comment form will also be available for completion during the meeting. For those unable to attend in person, public comments can be submitted online at BeHeard.CoMo.gov until Aug. 28.
