(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia's Stormwater Utility has announced the closure of Nebraska Avenue to through traffic starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22. The closure will be in effect east of the intersection with Providence Road as crews work on installing pipes under the street. This infrastructure project is part of the Stormwater Utility's efforts to improve the city's storm drain system and reduce street flooding.

While access to all drive approaches will remain open, motorists are advised to find alternate routes as barricades and signs will be present to reroute traffic around the closure. The work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. on April 22, weather permitting.
The Stormwater Utility urges caution for all motorists, pedestrians, and nonmotorized transportation users in the area of the work zone. They also remind everyone to follow any posted signs or instructions for their safety.
