(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - South Rock Quarry Road was temporarily closed this morning for tree removal work. According to City of Columbia Public Works, the road was closed from 10 to 11 a.m. between East Stadium Boulevard and Stags Way due to large trees falling overnight.

Public Works crews were quick to respond and moved the trees to the ditch in order to reopen the road. However, at 10 a.m., Arthur Ratliff Tree Removal was called in to remove the trees from the ditch, resulting in another hour-long closure.

Drivers were advised to find an alternate route during this time and were thanked for their patience. Attached pictures show the fallen trees before they were cleared from the roadway. The road has since been reopened for normal traffic flow.
