(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is currently seeking candidates for the vacant Ward 2 City Council seat. The City Clerk's Office has announced that they will be accepting petitions for office until 5 p.m. on June 3, 2025.
According to the City Charter, interested residents must be qualified voters and residents of Ward 2 and cannot hold any lucrative public office. To file a petition for office, candidates must obtain at least 50 signatures from registered voters who reside in Ward 2.

Petitions and instructions can be obtained from the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, located at 701 E. Broadway. The office is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1-5 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding weekends and City holidays).
For those who are unsure of their ward, maps can be found on the City's website at CoMo.gov/boards/city-council/wards-map/. This is an opportunity for residents to make a difference in their community by running for City Council in Ward 2.
