(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia, Boone County, and the University of Missouri have announced a public meeting to discuss the updated joint Stormwater Management Plan. The Interested Parties Meeting will take place on Thursday, Feb. 13 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at City Hall in Conference Room 1A/1B.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the draft of the updated plan and gather feedback from the community. This plan outlines the strategies and objectives for addressing stormwater runoff and its impact on water quality over the next five years. It is necessary for these entities to comply with their joint Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit, which is regulated by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources under the authority of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Representatives from the City of Columbia Stormwater Utility, Boone County, and the University of Missouri will be in attendance to provide information and discuss the contents of the plan. The plan includes measures such as public education and outreach, public involvement and participation, illicit discharge detection and elimination, construction site stormwater runoff controls, post-construction stormwater management in new development and redevelopment, as well as pollution prevention and good housekeeping for municipal operations.
