(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia's Public Works Street division has announced plans to temporarily close a section of Providence Road on Tuesday, June 24. The closure, which will be in effect between Big Bear Boulevard and Blue Ridge Road, is necessary for concrete pouring as part of ongoing road repairs.
According to officials, concrete trucks are scheduled to arrive at 10 a.m. and the road will be closed in both directions to ensure efficient placement of the concrete. The closure is expected to last for approximately one hour.

During this time, northbound traffic on Providence Road will be detoured east onto Big Bear Boulevard while southbound traffic will be closed at Blue Ridge Road. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes such as Rangeline Street and North Garth Avenue to avoid delays throughout the day.
The City of Columbia Public Works Street division assures that the road will reopen once the concrete pouring work is completed. Residents are urged to plan their travel accordingly and follow any detours or alternate routes provided by authorities.
