(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to reports of shots fired on the evening of January 19th in the 2100 block of West Worley Street. According to authorities, multiple calls were made around 5:25 p.m. regarding the incident.
Upon arrival, officers detained six juveniles in the 400 block of North Stadium Boulevard. During their investigation, they discovered three firearms, one of which was reported stolen. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the shots fired.
One juvenile was taken into custody and is facing four counts of first-degree assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, and distribution of a controlled substance. Another juvenile was detained for unlawful possession of a firearm and trespassing. A third juvenile was also detained for unlawful possession of a firearm while a fourth was held for juvenile delinquency. Two other juveniles were released without charges.

The Columbia Police Department has stated that this is an ongoing investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward. They can contact the department at 573-874-7652 or provide information anonymously through CrimeStoppers at 573-875-8477. A cash reward of up to $2,500 may be given to those who provide information that leads to an arrest.
