(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 3400 block of Clark Lane on May 17 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male who had been shot during a disturbance. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Further investigation revealed that a second adult male had also been struck by gunfire and was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle. Tragically, the first victim, identified as 56-year-old Louis W. Hart of Columbia, succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital. His next of kin have been notified.

According to initial information gathered by investigators at the scene, it appears that both males were involved in a shooting exchange with each other.
