(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a shots fired call on the evening of June 15 in the area of East Broadway and Old 63. Upon arrival, officers discovered 18-year-old Zarian Simpson of Columbia with a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services provided treatment at the scene before transporting Simpson to a local hospital. Sadly, Simpson later succumbed to his injuries and his next of kin have been notified.
Following an investigation, police detectives arrested a juvenile on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the shooting. The case is still ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652.
