(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia police responded to a fatal crash on the morning of May 16 in the 1200 block of Business Loop 70 West. According to the preliminary investigation, a 48-year-old resident of Columbia was attempting to turn left into a business parking lot when they failed to yield to an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle, driven by a 35-year-old Columbia resident, collided with the vehicle and the rider was thrown from their bike.

Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The victim's next of kin has been notified. The incident is currently under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652.
