(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a report of a stabbing on Leeway Drive at approximately 9:44 a.m. on April 14. According to reports, the victim had already been taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries before officers arrived on the scene.
Upon making contact with the victim and witnesses, officers were able to identify the suspect as 70-year-old Arthur Hooks, a resident of Columbia. Hooks was subsequently arrested and charged with assault first degree, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477 and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500 if their information leads to an arrest.
