(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to an alarm for an ATM in the 3400 block of Buttonwood Drive on the night of August 31st. Upon arrival, officers apprehended a suspect from his vehicle in the ATM drive-thru. The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Carlos Eduardo Hernandez-Moreno, a resident of Brighton, Colorado.

Hernandez-Moreno was found to be in possession of large amounts of cash, multiple running laptops, and other computer equipment. As a result, his vehicle and its contents were seized as evidence. He has been charged with felony first-degree property damage and felony stealing.

In addition to these charges, Hernandez-Moreno is being held on an immigration detainer at the Boone County Jail. Authorities believe that he may be part of a larger criminal organization that is responsible for similar crimes across the country.
