(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a collision on Range Line Street (Missouri Highway 763) north of the Blue Ridge Road intersection on May 13 at approximately 9 p.m. According to police, a Yada moped and a black 2011 Ford Escape were involved in the incident.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the moped was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Range Line Street when it collided with the Escape, which was traveling northbound. The driver of the moped, identified as Terry L. Walker, 64, of Columbia, was thrown from the vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing two unidentified passengers fleeing west from the Escape after the crash.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, Walker succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His next of kin has been notified. The driver of the Escape sustained moderate injuries.
