(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting that took place on Feb. 12 on Madison Street. Michael Proctor Jr., 21, of Columbia, was taken into custody on Feb. 13 and is facing charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.
The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1100 block of Madison Street. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover from his non-life-threatening injury.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477 to provide information anonymously. A cash reward of up to $2,500 may be given for information leading to an arrest in this case (2025-001244).
