(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia police responded to a report of a stabbing in the early hours of July 10th in the 1100 block of West Broadway. Upon arrival, officers found an adult female victim who had been attacked and immediately administered emergency medical care until EMS arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect, identified as 55-year-old Michael James, was no longer at the scene but was quickly located by officers in the area. James has been arrested on charges of first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and resisting arrest.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652. Those who wish to remain anonymous can provide information through CrimeStoppers at 573.875.TIPS (8477). The case number for this ongoing investigation is 2024-005817.
