(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police have arrested 30-year-old Steven Greathouse of Columbia on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, possession and promotion of child pornography. According to authorities, Greathouse had been posing as a juvenile online in order to solicit sexually explicit images from underage victims.
The arrest was made on January 31st after the Columbia Police received a tip from the New Jersey State Police about Greathouse's illegal online communication with juveniles in New Jersey. With the assistance of the Boone County Sheriff's Office Cyber Crimes Task Force, CPD officers executed a search warrant at Greathouse's residence where he was taken into custody without incident.

In light of this disturbing incident, the Columbia Police Department is urging parents to have open conversations with their children about online safety. They also recommend visiting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's website for more information on how to protect children from online predators.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573-874-7652. Anonymous tips can also be provided by calling CrimeStoppers at 573-875-8477. A cash reward of up to $2,500 may be given for information leading to an arrest in this case. The case number is 2025-000708.
