(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia Public Works Street division has announced that Capital Paving, the contractor for the city, will begin overnight mill and overlay pavement maintenance on various downtown and campus-area streets starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 17.
This maintenance process involves grinding off the top layer of old pavement and applying a fresh layer of asphalt. Once the overlay is complete, crews will return to apply fresh striping. The overnight work is expected to last approximately three weeks before moving on to a second phase on a separate list of streets. The list for phase two will be published in late July.
