(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia Public Works department has announced an upcoming open house meeting to discuss a new sidewalk project on Mills Drive. The meeting will take place on Monday, September 8th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) located at 1701 W. Ash St.
According to city officials, the purpose of the meeting is to present design concepts for the Mills Drive sidewalk project. This project aims to improve pedestrian connections between shopping areas on Forum Boulevard and nearby neighborhoods. The proposed improvements include constructing a sidewalk along the north side of Mills Drive between Forum Boulevard and Highridge Drive, as well as constructing or reconstructing pedestrian curb ramps at intersections.

Construction for this project is set to begin in spring of 2027. During the open house meeting, members of the public will have the opportunity to review information and diagrams showcasing the design concept. City engineering staff will also be present to answer any questions or concerns.
Those interested in providing feedback can do so by filling out a public comment form at the meeting or by visiting the project webpage at BeHeard.CoMo.gov/Mills-Drive. All members of the public are welcome to attend this open meeting.
