(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia Public Works department has announced an informal open house meeting concerning the Fairview Road and Chapel Hill Road roundabout project. The meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Media Center at Fairview Elementary School, 909 S. Fairview Road.
The purpose of this meeting is to share the design concept for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Fairview Road and Chapel Hill Road. This project will replace the existing intersection with a single lane roundabout and also include construction of a sidewalk to fill in a sidewalk gap along the northeast side of Chapel Hill Road near the intersection. The primary goal of this design is to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection, with construction scheduled to start during summer 2026.
