(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia will be holding a special City Council meeting on April 17 at 5 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to swear in the incoming City Council representatives to their respective positions.

Barbara Buffaloe, who was elected as Columbia's city mayor and council member-at-large, will be among those being sworn in. Jacque Sample will also be sworn in as the new Ward 3 council member, while Nick Foster will take on the role of Ward 4 council member.

In addition to welcoming the new members, the meeting will also recognize current Ward 3 Council Member Roy Lovelady for his service. The agenda for the special meeting can be found on CoMo.gov.

Following the meeting, a reception will be held in Conference Rooms 1A/1B of City Hall. This event is open to the public and attendees are welcome to join both the special meeting and reception.

For those unable to attend in person, the special meeting will be live-streamed on CoMo.gov/broadcasts as well as on Spectrum channel 992, Mediacom channel 80, or CenturyLink channel 96.
