(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia's public transit provider, Go COMO, has announced that the DoubleMap app will be retired nationwide on December 31, 2024. The app, which was previously used for bus tracking and service information, will be replaced by the ETA SPOT app starting on January 2, 2025.

Riders are reminded to download the free ETA SPOT app from Google Play or the App Store before the transition takes place. As Go COMO does not operate on New Year's Day, the first day of operations with ETA SPOT will be January 2. The transit provider encourages riders to familiarize themselves with the new app before then.

ETA SPOT offers several improvements over DoubleMap, including more accurate arrival times through an intelligent tracking system. Notifications will also appear on the main screen of the app instead of being hidden behind a menu. Future updates will include push notifications, Google integration, and photos of bus stops and nearby attractions. Users can also switch between standard street maps and satellite views for navigation.

Signs have been posted at the Wabash Bus Station, on all bus stop signs, and inside buses. Text alerts have been sent through the Alerts.CoMo.gov system and an announcement has been made on the DoubleMap app. Social media posts and press releases have also been used to spread awareness.

Riders can sign up for high-priority notifications regarding changes to bus service caused by traffic, staffing or other events at Alerts.CoMo.gov. They can also view bus routes online at GoCOMOTransit.com/routes or contact Go COMO dispatch at 573-874-7524 for assistance.

Go COMO expresses their gratitude to all riders for their cooperation during this transition and looks forward to providing improved transit services in 2025 and beyond. With these changes, riders can expect a more efficient and user-friendly experience when using public transportation in Columbia.
