(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia's transit provider, Go COMO, has recently announced the adoption of a new app, SPOT, developed by ETA Transit. This free app is now available for riders to download and use in order to track Go COMO buses in real time, view schedules, and receive service alerts.
Previously, Go COMO used the DoubleMap app provided by TransLoc for these services. However, with TransLoc ending support for DoubleMap nationwide on December 31st, Go COMO has made the decision to switch to ETA SPOT.
To ensure a smooth transition for riders, Go COMO will continue to offer DoubleMap services until December 31st. This gives riders two months to download and familiarize themselves with the ETA SPOT app before DoubleMap is no longer in use.
Throughout November and December, Go COMO will make multiple announcements to inform riders about the new app. These announcements will be shared through various channels such as signs at the Wabash Bus Station, inside buses and bus shelters, the DoubleMap app itself, RAVE text alerts, and on social media platforms. Additionally, all bus stop signs will be updated with information about ETA SPOT.

The ETA SPOT app can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store. It offers a more modern and streamlined experience for riders with improved navigation that includes more accurate arrival times and detailed bus stop information. Service alerts are also more visible on the main screen compared to being hidden behind a separate menu on DoubleMap. Future updates will include photos of individual bus stops, information about nearby attractions, and push notifications directly to users' phones. Riders can also choose between standard street maps or satellite views on the app.
Go COMO would like to remind riders that both the app and their transit services remain free of charge. For more information on Go COMO transit services or to download the ETA SPOT app, visit their website at GoCOMOTransit.com.
