(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Fire Department (CFD) companies were dispatched to a vehicle fire in a parking garage on Hospital Drive on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at 10:29 a.m. and was quickly responded to by firefighters.

Upon arrival, the firefighters found a vehicle on the second floor of the parking structure engulfed in flames. With the help of University of Missouri Police and security staff members, the area was secured to control traffic and limit access. This allowed the firefighters to safely approach the vehicle.

The first company established a water supply from a nearby hydrant and used a specially designed hose bundle to extend their hoselines from the floor below to reach the burning car. Additional firefighters arrived on scene to assist, and together they were able to contain the fire to the original vehicle. This prevented any nearby vehicles from catching fire and eliminated any potential damage to the structure.
