(COLUMBIA, MO) -
The City of Columbia Sewer Utility has scheduled an interested parties meeting to discuss an upcoming sewer rehabilitation project near Bear Creek and in other designated areas. The meeting is set for 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in Conference Rooms 1A/1B at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Utility's plans to line existing sanitary sewer mains in the area. The proposed method is trenchless and is less invasive than traditional methods. A contractor places a liner inside an aging pipe then blows steam to expand and harden the liner. The result is a reinforced pipe without a shovel breaking the dirt.
