(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is continuing its efforts to engage residents in the budget process by hosting a third session of town hall meetings. These events, which will take place on Monday, April 14 at City Hall, aim to provide insight into how the city plans and budgets for major infrastructure projects.
The town hall will be held in two sessions, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., in Conference Rooms 1A/1B. This timing is intended to encourage greater public participation and allow for both daytime and evening attendance.
According to Finance Director Matthew Lue, involving residents in the budgeting process is crucial. "We believe it's essential to involve our residents in the budgeting process and help them better understand how we plan and allocate our resources," he stated. "These town halls are a great opportunity for Columbia residents to gain insight into how the budget process works in a fun way, which we hope will empower them to participate more actively in shaping the City's financial decisions and priorities."
