(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia residents can expect a temporary closure of the alley between South Ninth and South Tenth streets, located between Cherry and Locust streets, starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17. The closure is necessary for crews to repair drainage infrastructure in order to prevent water from collecting and freezing on the adjacent sidewalk.
During the closure, the alley will be closed to all traffic and the sidewalk in front of the alley entrance on South Ninth Street will also be closed. To ensure the safety of pedestrians, "Sidewalk closed, cross here" signs will be posted on Cherry and Locust streets to guide them around the area. Additionally, two parking meters near the alley entrance will be reserved for work vehicles from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
