(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The 32nd annual Columbia Values Diversity Awards were presented at the Columbia Values Diversity Celebration on Wednesday, Jan. 29. These prestigious awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to promoting diversity and cultural understanding in the community.

The individual/family 2025 Diversity Award was presented to the Adejo Family for their outstanding efforts in embodying the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through their actions. Chris and Kelechi Adejo, along with their children, have tirelessly worked towards fostering inclusivity, promoting cultural appreciation, and uplifting marginalized voices in Columbia.

Originally from Nigeria, the Adejo family arrived in Columbia in 2011 with a deep commitment to contributing to their new community. Both Chris and Kelechi have utilized their respective platforms - Chris through photography and community involvement, and Kelechi through cultural education and leadership - to make a lasting impact on the city.

Their dedication to promoting justice, compassion, and shared humanity mirrors the spirit of Dr. King's message. Like him, they understand that the struggle for equality transcends borders and identities.
