~ The City of St. Louis Department of Personnel has recently launched a new applicant tracking system, Taleo, in an effort to streamline the hiring process and reduce paper usage. This innovative platform is part of the city's commitment to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.
Taleo offers a fully digital experience for both job applicants and the hiring team, simplifying applications, tracking, and communications. By moving away from traditional paper-based processes, the Department of Personnel is not only making a positive impact on the environment but also improving the efficiency and accessibility of city employment opportunities.
According to Sonya Gray, Director of Personnel, "We are thrilled to implement Taleo within our department. This system marks a significant advancement in our hiring practices, allowing us to better serve the City of St. Louis and its residents." Gray also commended the Talent Acquisition team for their dedication and hard work in ensuring the success of this launch.

One of Taleo's key features is its mobile-friendly design, which allows candidates and recruiters to interact with the system on-the-go. This enhances accessibility and engagement, facilitating continuous communication and providing a smoother candidate experience.
Moreover, Taleo automates essential tasks such as job posting, applicant tracking, and interview scheduling, resulting in a reduced time-to-hire. Its powerful analytics tools also offer insights that refine recruitment strategies, ensuring that top-quality candidates are selected efficiently.
The public and prospective job applicants can explore the new system by visiting the updated jobs page on the City of St. Louis website. Mayor Tishaura O. Jones announced in her State of the City Address on May 14 that she hopes to lift the City's hiring freeze on May 20.
For additional information or to arrange an interview with Director Gray, please contact Jamie McGeechan at mcgeechanja@stlouis-mo.gov or (314) 322-0729 (cell) or (314) 622-5763 (office).
