~ The City of Springfield is currently in search of qualified candidates to fill a vacancy on the Board of Public Utilities. The Board, which is responsible for overseeing the city's electricity, natural gas, water, broadband, and public transportation services, has one open position with specific requirements.
According to the city's press release, applicants for this vacancy must have at least two years of residency in Springfield and possess business or professional experience. The selected candidate will serve a full three-year term and may also be considered for reappointment by the City Council.

City Utilities of Springfield (CU) has been serving the community since 1945 and currently provides services to over 111,000 customers across 320 square miles in southwest Missouri. With a focus on delivering dependable and affordable services with a personal touch, CU takes pride in being a community-owned utility.
The Board of Public Utilities consists of eleven members who are appointed by the Springfield City Council to serve three-year terms. These individuals play a crucial role in setting policies and determining the long-term direction for CU as outlined in the City Charter.
Board members are required to attend monthly meetings held at 3 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month at the City Utilities Board room located at 301 E. Central St. Interested candidates can apply online at springfieldmo.gov or by downloading and submitting an application form to the City Clerk's Office at Busch Municipal Building located at 840 N. Boonville.
Applications for this vacancy will be accepted until October 22nd at close of business. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified individuals to make a positive impact on their community by serving on the Board of Public Utilities.
