(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility has announced that they will be resuming manual residential curbside recycling collection on an every-other-week schedule starting March 18. This decision comes just weeks after the implementation of their new automated trash collection system.
According to City Manager De'Carlon Seewood, the City is excited to resume this service so soon after the implementation of the new system. He also stated that customers can put their mixed containers and mixed fibers curbside on their regular weekly scheduled refuse pickup day on alternating weeks.

It is important to note that collection routes have not changed and customers who have provided their email addresses to Utility Customer Service will receive emails with information on how to access the interactive collection map at a later date.
The roll cart distribution for the new automated system began on January 29 and will officially begin on March 4. The City will be sharing information and reminders regarding routes and other important details related to service resumption ahead of March 18.
