(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia is hosting its monthly Let's Talk Local discussion on Wednesday, October 15th from 5:30-7 p.m. at Missouri United Methodist Church. This month's discussion will feature Mayor Barbara Buffaloe and will focus on the newly adopted Fiscal Year 2026 budget, which went into effect on October 1st.
City staff will be present to highlight key points from the budget and answer any questions from the community. The Fiscal Year 2026 budget can be accessed at CoMo.gov/finance/accounting/financial-reports/. Residents are encouraged to share any specific topics or questions they would like addressed at the meeting on BeHeard.CoMo.gov/ask-city-council. Council members and City staff will do their best to address these inquiries during the event. Responses will also be posted on BeHeard for those unable to attend.

Although the event is being held at Missouri United Methodist Church, their parking lot will be reserved for a separate event. Instead, attendees are advised to use the Tenth and Cherry Parking Garage located at 1000 Cherry St. Parking is free for the first hour in City parking garages and after 6 p.m.
All residents from any ward are welcome to attend these meetings. Refreshments will be provided and registration is required through this link: https://forms.gle/MCwDgUNrHcxVM2po8. To find out which ward they reside in, residents can visit CoMo.gov/boards/city-council/wards-map/.
A second Let's Talk Local discussion with Ward 2 Council Member Vera Elwood will take place later in October. More details about this session will be announced once available.
