(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia, Missouri has recently announced the start of its 2021 Strategic Plan update. This plan serves as a guide for the city's priorities, decision-making, and long-term planning as it continues to grow and address the needs of its community.
Residents are encouraged to participate in shaping the future priorities of their community through various public engagement opportunities. These include a survey, ideas wall, and discussion forum on the engagement platform CoMo.gov/strategic-update. This platform will also provide updates throughout the process.
City Manager De'Carlon Seewood emphasized the importance of involving residents in this update process, stating that their input is essential in setting priorities for the future. The City will also be hosting three public forums at dates and locations to be announced, with additional opportunities for community input to be announced as well.

To assist with the update process, the City has enlisted the help of national consulting firm BerryDunn. The 2021 Strategic Plan was initially developed in summer 2018 before the conclusion of the 2016-2019 Strategic Plan. It was officially adopted by City Council in February 2021 and has since undergone minor updates in 2023 and 2024.
