(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia and Regional Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) have announced a new grant opportunity for small businesses in Boone County. Starting April 3, interested business owners can apply for the Small Business Grant program through ColumbiaREDI.com.
The program aims to support both start-up and established businesses by providing funding for expansion, innovation, or operational improvements. It specifically prioritizes business owners residing in economically disadvantaged areas of Columbia in an effort to strengthen local economic sustainability and community impact.
A total of eight businesses in Columbia will receive funding through the grant process. This includes two grants of $10,000 each and six grants of $5,000 each.
To help business owners understand the grant guidelines and application process, there will be two pre-application informational sessions. The first session will take place on Monday, March 16 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the REDI Training Room located at 500 E. Walnut St., Suite 103. The second session will be held virtually on Thursday, March 19 from 5:30-7 p.m. Interested individuals can register for either session using the link provided on ColumbiaREDI.com.

In order to be eligible for this funding opportunity, businesses must meet certain requirements including being registered with the State of Missouri and having a Federal Tax ID (EIN), being located in Boone County and licensed to do business in the City of Columbia, having 10 or fewer employees, having a business bank account or establishing one during the application process, generating less than $250,000 in gross sales during the previous 12 months, and being willing to work with a REDI business coach if selected.
