(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia's Finance department has been recognized for its exceptional budgeting practices. The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded the city with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its fiscal year 2024 budget.

This prestigious award is a reflection of the city's dedication to upholding the highest standards in governmental budgeting. In order to receive this recognition, the city's budget had to meet nationally recognized guidelines that assess its effectiveness as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communication tool.

"This is the 28th year that the City of Columbia has received this award," stated Director of Finance Matthew Lue.
