(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is currently seeking residents to join various boards and commissions in an effort to involve the community in local government. Applications are now being accepted by the City Clerk's Office and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7.

These boards and commissions provide an opportunity for individuals to represent their fellow community members and have a voice in decision-making processes. Interested individuals can find the application on the City's website at CoMo.gov.

There are several openings available for different boards and commissions, including the Building Construction Codes Commission, Columbia Sports Commission, Commission on Human Rights, Community Land Trust Organization Board, Food Council, Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health, Parking Advisory Commission, Personnel Advisory Board, Public Transit Advisory Commission, St. Charles Transportation Development District Board, Tax Increment Financing Commission, and University of Missouri Extension Council of Boone County.
