(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is currently seeking residents to join various boards and commissions, providing an opportunity for community members to have a voice in local government. Applications are now being accepted by the City Clerk's Office and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3.

These boards and commissions serve as a way for citizens to actively participate in decision-making processes and represent the interests of their fellow community members. The City has announced openings for several boards and commissions, including the Board of Health, Building Construction Codes Commission, Climate and Environment Commission, Community Land Trust Organization Board, Firefighters' Retirement Board, Housing and Community Development Commission, Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health, Parking Advisory Commission, Personnel Advisory Board, St. Charles Transportation Development District Board, Tax Increment Financing Commission, and Tree Board.
