(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is offering residents the opportunity to get involved in local government by accepting applications for various boards and commissions. The application process is now open and interested individuals can access the necessary forms on the City's official website, CoMo.gov. All applications must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2.

These boards and commissions serve as a platform for citizens to represent their community and have a say in important decisions. The current openings include positions on the Board of Health, Building Construction Codes Commission, Community Land Trust Organization Board, Disabilities Commission, Finance Advisory and Audit Committee, Historic Preservation Commission, Housing and Community Development Commission, Marijuana Facility License Review Board, Tax Increment Financing Commission, and Youth Advisory Council.
