(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is offering residents the opportunity to get involved in local government by accepting applications for various boards and commissions. These positions are a way for citizens to represent their community and have a voice in decision-making processes.

Interested individuals can access the application on the City's website,, and must submit it to the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 5. The current openings include positions on the Board of Adjustment, Building Construction Codes Commission, Columbia Housing Authority Board, Community Land Trust Organization Board, Downtown Columbia Leadership Council, Finance Advisory and Audit Committee, Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health, and Planning and Zoning Commission.
