ST. LOUIS - Missouriar -- The Association of Corporate Counsel – St. Louis Chapter (ACC STL) is proud to celebrate National Pro Bono Month this October by recognizing the significant contributions of its members who volunteer their time and expertise to provide free legal services in the community.
Serving Veterans and Their Families
On June 17, 2025, Chapter members partnered with the Missouri Veterans Commission to host a Veterans Legal Clinic for Estate Planning. Volunteer attorneys worked directly with veterans and their families to prepare essential legal documents, including wills, powers of attorney and health care directives.
"National Pro Bono Month is a time to highlight the extraordinary work of our members who generously give their time and skills to support individuals and families in need," said Essica Zink, Chapter's 2025 Pro Bono Chairperson. "Our members remain deeply committed to serving the St. Louis community, and their impact continues to grow each year."

Since launching its partnership with the Missouri Veterans Commission in 2019, the Chapter has participated in 14 estate planning clinics, executing more than 1,100 legal documents for veterans and their families. The estimated value of these pro bono services exceeds $600,000. The Chapter is currently scheduled to participate in another estate planning clinic on November 18, 2025.
"Since inception in June of 2022, the Commission's estate planning program has served 2,543 clients and produced 9,109 documents. Based on the statewide average cost per document, that constitutes approximately $4,554,500.00 in savings to veterans and their spouses. ACC-St. Louis Chapter has played a huge part in that success, and we are honored to have them as a partner," said Scotty Allen, Missouri Veterans Commission General Counsel.
Commitment Beyond the Courtroom
In addition to the Veterans Legal Clinic, ACC STL members regularly collaborate with local nonprofits to meet community needs beyond legal representation. This includes volunteering with Operation Food Search and other service initiatives that combine professional networking with meaningful community impact.
